Paraw sailboats at sunset on White Beach
Beach Escape · Visayas

Boracay

Four kilometres of powder-fine sand, sailboat sunsets, and water the colour of glass.

The Experience

The country's most famous white sand

Boracay's White Beach is the beach that made the Philippines famous — talcum-soft sand, calm shallows, and a sunset strip of paraws (sailboats) drifting past in golden light. Since its rehabilitation, the island is cleaner and better managed than ever.

White Beach runs roughly four kilometres, divided by long habit into Stations 1, 2 and 3 — Station 1 the widest and quietest sand, Station 2 the busy middle, Station 3 the mellower, better-value end. Around the headland, Puka Shell Beach is coarser, emptier and far less built up, and worth the short trip.

The island closed for six months in 2018 for rehabilitation and reopened under real rules: a cleared beach easement, no permanent structures on the sand, no beachfront parties, and tight limits on single-use plastic. The result is a wider, calmer, noticeably cleaner beach than the one people remember from a decade ago.

We arrange your Caticlan or Kalibo transfers and boat to the island, your beachfront stay, and a half-day island-hopping trip — leaving your days free for the sand, the water, and that sunset sail aboard a paraw.
