Cebu & Oslob

From the country's oldest church to canyons, falls, and a dawn swim beside whale sharks.

The Experience

Whale sharks, waterfalls & the heart of the south

Cebu packs an extraordinary range into one province — the historic heart of Philippine Christianity in the city, the famous whale-shark interaction at Oslob in the south, the turquoise tiers of Kawasan Falls, and Moalboal's swirling sardine run just offshore.

Cebu City is where the Philippine story begins — Magellan's Cross, the Basilica del Santo Niño built around the country's oldest religious icon, and Fort San Pedro on the harbour. Three hours south, Oslob offers whale-shark encounters that are all but guaranteed, because the animals there are hand-fed by local boatmen; the practice is regulated and briefed, and it is also debated among conservationists. Travellers who prefer a wholly wild encounter should ask us about Donsol instead — we run that one too, and we'll tell you honestly which suits you.

Beyond it the province keeps giving: Tumalog Falls just up the road from Oslob, the turquoise tiers of Kawasan at Badian, the sandbar off Sumilon Island, and Moalboal's sardine run — millions of fish turning in a single silver column a short swim from the shore.

We tie it together with private transport for the long southern drives, your stays, and the entrance and interaction fees — guided by a local who knows the timing that makes each stop shine.
